If 2015 didn't already have enough sequels in its schedule, we can now add another to the list with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane revealing on Twitter that the follow-up to last year's smash-hit comedy Ted is looking at a "2015 Passover release date", indicating that the film is likely to hit cinemas in early April. Ted 2 will see MacFarlane once again writing, directing and lending his voice to the eponymous bear, with Mark Wahlberg also set to return as Ted's buddy John Bennett.
MacFarlane is currently busy shooting his second feature film A Million Ways to Die in the West, which sees him playing a cowardly farmer who seeks the help of gunslinger's wife in an effort to win back the woman who left him. MacFarlane is joined in the cast of the comedy Western by Charlize Theron (Prometheus), Amanda Seyfriend (Lovelace), Liam Neeson (Taken), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar) and Sarah Silverman (Wreck-It Ralph). The film is due to open on May 30th, 2014.
Ted 2 becomes the latest in a string of big-name sequels due for release in 2015, including The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, The Smurfs 3, Hotel Transylvania 2, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, Finding Dory, Alvin and the Chipmunks 4, Kung Fu Panda 3, Star Wars: Episode VII, Mission: Impossible 5, Independence Day 2, The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun, Jurassic Park IV, Bond 24, Snow White and the Huntsman 2 and Batman vs. Superman.
