Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez has revealed a surprise addition to the cast of Machete Kills today, announcing via Twitter that pop music sensation Lady Gaga will make her acting debut alongside Danny Trejo's ex-Federale in the currently-in-production sequel to the 2010 Grindhouse spin-off: "I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!"

Rodriguez has certainly assembled an eclectic line-up for Machete Kills, with Mel Gibson securing the role of Machete's arms dealing nemesis and Charlie Sheen rumoured to be portraying the US President. Other additions to the cast include Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Amber Heard (Drive Angry), Sofía Vergara (The Three Stooges), Demian Bichir (A Better Life), Zoe Saldana (Avatar), William Sadler (Iron Man 3) and Cuba Gooding Jr (Red Tails), while Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Tom Savini and Electra and Elise Avellan will all reprise their roles from the first movie.![]()
