Principal photography now underway on Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, brief synopsis released

Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. have officially announced that production is now underway on what is sure to be one of 2014's most anticipated releases in Christopher Nolan's (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) sci-fi epic Interstellar, which "chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage."

Interstellar has been written by Jonathan Nolan, and features an impressive ensemble cast which includes Matthew McConaughey (Mud), Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Bill Irwin (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), John Lithgow (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Casey Affleck (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford), David Gyasi (Cloud Atlas), Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games), Mackenzie Foy (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 and 2) Timothée Chalamet (Homeland), Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3), David Oyelowo (Jack Reacher), Ellen Burstyn (The Exorcist), and Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Trilogy).

Interstellar will employ a mixture of 35mm and IMAX photography and is set to hit cinemas on November 7th, 2014.
