Disney have officially announced their movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Into The Woods at their D23 Expo, along with a bunch of the cast - including Johnny Depp (The Lone Ranger) as The Big Bad Wolf, Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia) as The Witch and Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect), Chris Pine (Star Trek) and Emily Blunt (The Adjustment Bureau) as unspecific roles (although the IMDb has them down as Cinderella, Cinderella's Prince and The Baker's Wife, respectively).

Into The Woods cheat sheet: it's a musical by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine. It premiered on Broadway in 1987 and weaves together the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales. It's main characters come from Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel and Cinderella.

The IMDb also lists British comedian James Corden (The History Boys) as The Baker and Daniel Huttlestone (Les Miserables) as Jack, and YouTube personality Sophia Grace Brownlee has been confirmed to play Little Red Riding Hood. She's the Nicki Minaj-singing 8-year-old girl who's always on the Ellen DeGeneres show. See the video below at 3.50 for her singing Minaj's song about a giant fish, Superbass:

Into The Woods will be directed by Rob Marshall and is currently slotted in for a Christmas Day release in the US on 25th December, 2014.
