Subtitled Coven, the story for season three will centre on a group of witches that relocated from Salem, Massachusetts to New Orleans, Louisiana before The Salem Witch Trials, and will alternate between the 1830s and modern day.
Kathy Bates (Misery) will portray infamous serial killer Delphine LaLaurie, who starts out as the best friend of Jessica Lange's witch Fiona, but later becomes her worst enemy. Meanwhile the rest of the cast includes American Horror Story regulars Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga and Lily Rabe alongside new addition Angela Bassett (Olympus Has Fallen).
American Horror Story: Coven is set to premiere in the States on FX on October 9th.
