Sam Rockwell (Moon, Seven Psychopaths) is reportedly in early talks to star in the Poltergeist reboot at MGM and Fox 2000 opposite Rosemarie DeWitt (Cinderella Man). The film will tell the story of a happy family terrorised in their home, with their daughter abducted by supernatural forces.
Rockwell is the top choice for the role and is said to be intrigued by starring in a studio movie produced by Sam Raimi. David Lindsay Abaire (Oz the Great and Powerful) has written the script and Raimi will co-produce with regular Ghost House Pictures partner Rob Tapert and MGM.
Rockwell can next be seen in comedy The Way, Way Back with Steve Carell and Toni Collette, which is out on August 28th. He has also filmed the crime drama A Single Shot with William H. Macy, Kelly Reilly and Jason Isaacs, and Clark Gregg's comedy Trust Me.
