Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly has announced that the hit show Glee will be ending after a 5th and 6th season. Reilly spoke about the show at the 2013 TCA press tour. "I would not anticipate it goes beyond two more seasons," Reilly explained. "Never say never, but there are two very clear arcs to get to there and conclude. If we discover a new crop of kids and there's some breakout, who knows? But right now, we're thinking two seasons."
Glee has been in the news a lot lately after the passing of star Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the series. The third episode of this season will deal with the death of Finn. I like their 8 Simple Rules approach to handling his death instead of just writing off his character like he never existed.
Two more seasons seems like a good time to stop. The show had a great first season, a very stale second, picked back up in the third and had a decent outing in the fourth. If we are looking at only two more seasons that would give the show enough time to have all the current kids graduate and end the show on the right note.
