Len Wiseman leaves The Mummy reboot

To many this may be non-news, but if you like your Mummy films then you may be interested to hear that director Len Wiseman (Total Recall), has exited production of the reboot of The Mummy franchise.

Producers Sean Daniels, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are in search of a director immediately as production is continuing. Doesn't sound particularly wise, but who am I to say.

There have been competing scripts for the film, with no one currently knowing what will be used. Wiseman described it previously:

“It’s horror. Its epic. It’s more of a modern day version of what would happen if we came across a mummy in our world today. It is pretty fascinating.”

Originally set for a 2014 release, there is currently no word on its release date.
