With 9 nominations at the 2013 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, IDW was honoured at the podium 3 times with multiple-winner Darwyne Cooke being lauded for Best Adaptation From Another Medium for the graphic novel Parker: The Score, the third volume in the series based on the original novel by Richard Stark.  Also honoured was Chris Samnee with his first Eisner trophy for Best Penciller/Inker in regards to his work for Rocketeer: Cargo of Doom.

Image Comics which received 18 nominations did not go away empty handed either as the family drama-meets space opera Saga created by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples won Best New Series, Best Continuing Series and Best Writer for Saga.  Sharing the Friday night ceremony laurels in San Diego with Vaughan and Staples was Brandon Graham who was presented the Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album – Reprint for King City.  Dave Stewart was awarded Best Colouring for his contributions to 7 titles, including Fatale.

“The amount of nominations I got this year was crazy and that I won one even crazier,” stated Graham.  “I really appreciate Eric Stephenson and Image having so much faith in me and my work to help me get to this place where my peers can see it and apparently like it. So cool.”
