It was a huge day for fans of superhero movies yesterday with Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios each using their Hall H presentations to give fans a taste of what's to come over the next couple of years. The day started out with a report suggesting that Warner Bros. would take the opportunity to unveil its post-Man of Steel plans for a DC Movie Universe, and sure enough the climax of the panel saw director Zack Snyder and actor Harry Lennix (General Swanwick) taking to the stage to announce that Henry Cavill's Superman would be teaming up with a rebooted Batman for a World's Finest movie in 2015. You can click the image below to watch video footage of the announcement, and head here for an official press release from Warner Bros., which reveals that Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Diane Lane (Martha Kent) will all reunite with Snyder, Cavill and screenwriter David S. Goyer...

...World's Finest wasn't the only big surprise from the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures panel, with Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) coming out to show a "mood piece" for the fantasy adaptation World of Warcraft, described here by io9: "The footage showcased an alien-looking landscape full of rocky outcroppings, where a sweaty unshaven figure in armor is drinking water from a leather pouch. There's a cage with rocks in it, a squeaking noise, green lightning in the sky. The man tosses the water pouch on the ground, and draws his sword with a loud ringing sound. He takes a shield from an armored skeleton, and bangs his sword against it. And then you see the massive arm of a... creature... heading towards him. We glimpse the green skin and some of the armor, and then finally we get an extreme closeup of the orc as it raises its axe and brings it down onto the man's head..."

...Coming Soon has a great recap of the entire panel, which also featured brand new footage from Seventh Son, Godzilla, 300: Rise of an Empire, Gravity, Edge of Tomorrow and The LEGO Movie (which will Channing Tatum voicing LEGO Superman, Jonah Hill voicing LEGO Green Lantern, and Cobie Smulders swapping the Marvel Cinematic Universe to lend her voice to LEGO Wonder Woman, in what will be the Amazon Princess' first big screen appearance), while the panel also coincided with the release of a pair of character posters for Edge of Tomorrow featuring Tom Cruise (Jack Reacher) and Emily Blunt (Looper)...

...After Warner's panel, Lionsgate took to Hall H to show off the upcoming I, Frankenstein, followed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which included the release of a brand new trailer for the hotly-anticipated sequel. You can watch the trailer here, and head over to Cinema Blend for a recap of the full panel...

...Next up was 20th Century Fox with the very first footage from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which saw Jason Clarke's human character meeting with Andy Serkis' ape leader Caeser, now ten years older [the footage isn't online, but you can see an official image of Caeser here and visit Collider for a detailed recap of the Apes panel]. This was followed by Hugh Jackman taking to the stage to promote the impending release of The Wolverine, before Logan was joined on stage by Bryan Singer, screenwriter Simon Kinberg, producers Lauren Schuler Donner, Hutch Parker and virtually the entire cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past in Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Young Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Young Magneto), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Halle Berry (Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Omar Sy (Bishop), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and Peter Dinklage (Bolivar Trask). io9 has a detailed breakdown of the footage that was shown, and here's a photo of the cast assembled courtesy of Patrick Stewart on Twitter...
