After the huge announcement from Warner Bros. about Superman and Batman coming together on screen in 2015 for a Zack Snyder-directed sequel to Man of Steel, 20th Century Fox needed to deliver something special with its panel today at Comic-Con and the studio did just that as Bryan Singer assembled the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past on stage to deliver some first look footage from next year's mutant epic and send the Hall H crowd into a frenzy...

Singer, producers Lauren Shuler Donner and Hutch Parker and screenwriter Simon Kinberg were joined on the panel by Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Young Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Young Magneto), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Halle Berry (Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Omar Sy (Bishop), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and Peter Dinklage - with the Game of Thrones star confirming that speculation that he's set to portray Bolivar Trask, creator of the Sentinels. Meanwhile, it was also confirmed that it will be Jackman's Logan traveling back in time, where he has to convince McAvoy's Professor X to help prevent a bleak, apocalyptic future for mutantkind.

Be sure to head on over to Cinema Blend for a recap of the entire panel (including Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and The Wolverine), while io9 also has a detailed breakdown of the footage from X-Men: Days of Future Past.
