Six years of collaboration between BBC Worldwide and IDW Publishing which started with Doctor Who: Agent Provocateur has resulted in an new ongoing series by writer Andy Diggle, an extended maxi-series starring all 11 doctors in Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time, and the crossover Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Whoin 2012. “IDW is a great partner and we’re very proud of the comics that we have created and released together,” stated Soumya Sriraman, Executive Vice President Home Entertainment and Licensing. The free digital one-shot Banshee: Originswill include additional content exploring how master thief Lucas Hood ended up in the Pennsylvania town.

Banshee stars Antony Starr (Rush) as Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Pa. where he continues his criminal activities, even though he and Carrie (Ivana Milicevic), his former partner in crime, are hunted by shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier.
The new instalment of the prequel comic is written by Banshee series writer Jonathan Tropper and illustrated by Mike Henderson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Casey Jones).
