The first film did big business, grossing over a billion dollars, so it's not a surprise that this is coming.
This time round Tim Burton is set to be replaced by James Bobin (The Muppets).
The news comes after it was revealed that Depp's company Infinitum Nihil has signed a new first-look deal at Disney to develop film projects he can produce at the studio.
The Lone Ranger star is also set to appear in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and musical Into the Woods for the studio, and is also currently in talks for its crime caper Mordecai.
