Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson loves a tweet. Throughout his work so far on Hercules, Johnson has been tweeting images from the set, mainly of himself. The latest image does little to change that pattern, with a good view of his massive leg - though it does give us a look at a set and another character...
"Our 'Hercules' set created by award winning designer Jean-Vincent Puzos w/ great detail," he writes. "I sit in awe."
Directed by Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand), the film also stars Ian McShane (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Rufus Sewell (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Joseph Fiennes (American Horror Story), Peter Mullan (Tyranosaur), John Hurt (Snowpiercer), Rebecca Ferguson (The White Queen), Ingrid Bolsø Berdal (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters), Aksel Hennie (Headhunters), Reece Ritchie (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) and Tobias Santelmann (Kon-Tiki). It is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars.
The ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist. Not sure how that means Zeus (Hercules' father) and other elements will fit into the story, but we're bound to find out more as we get nearer release.
Hercules is scheduled for release on July 25th, 2014.
