Jake Peffer reviews the third season of Bob's Burgers...
Season 3 saw huge improvements in almost every aspect of the show. From the animation, to the writing, to the overall cleverness, Bob's Burgers has vastly improved with each season. Everything that has always been good is still just as good in the third season. The voice cast for instance is in top form here and is one of the few voice casts where everyone really gets a chance to shine - most notably H. Jon Benjamin who voices Bob. Kristen Schaal, Eugene Mirman and Dan Mintz are as great as ever as Bob's kids and John Roberts as Linda steps it up more than he ever has considering he voices the weakest of the main characters. It's also good to see Teddy (Larry Murphy) get bumped up to a regular character as he has certainly been the best recurring character.
The Belchers have always gotten into some crazy situations and they get even better with the third season. Whether it's Bob firing the kids, Gene getting his first girlfriend or the family meeting a man who used to be a mannequin there is plenty of hilarity that ensues. My absolute favorite plotline from this season has to be when Gene realizes that he will grow up to look like Bob so he gets a makeover to look like his dad and starts to act just like him. There are even episodes that parody E.T. and Jaws which make up some of the best episodes the show has ever had. A bunch of guest stars make great appearances, including Zach Galifianakis, Bill Hader, Aziz Ansari and Kevin Kline.
Season 3 of Bob's Burgers is the best season yet. With great stories, a very game voice cast and plenty of hilarious moments, it is proving to be one of the best animated shows on TV.

In 2011, Fox unveiled a new animated show called Bob's Burgers. While at first it wasn't a critical success and didn't gain a huge audience it has gone on to become somewhat of a cult show. After a short second season everyone was surprised to see the show return for a third season. To my delight season three turned out to be without a doubt the best season so far and has now made Bob's Burgers the best part of Fox's "Animation Domination."
