Apart from the appointment of J.J. Abrams (Star Trek Into Darkness) as director, we know very little in the way of factual information about Star Wars: Episode VII. Sure, there's been plenty of rumours - the most persistent being that Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) will reprise their roles from the Original Trilogy - but now we may have a few clues as to what Abrams has planned for Disney's first foray to a galaxy far, far away thanks to a casting breakdown which arrived online via SchmoesKnow yesterday...
[YOUNG MAN] Early 20s. Not classically handsome. He is witty and smart. Physically fit.
[MAN] Late 20s. Physically fit, handsome and confident.
[YOUNG WOMAN] Late teens. Physically fit, independent and with a great sense of humor.
[YOUNG WOMAN #2] Late teens. Tough, smart, physically fit.
[MAN - 40S] Physically fit, military type.
[MAN - 30ISH] An intellectual.
[MAN - 65-75] Tough and opinionated.
There's been plenty of talk that Episode VII could see a female lead, and based upon the above there could be some substance in that. Of course there's not really all that much to go on at this point, but let's not let that get in the way of speculation...
Star Wars: Episode VII has been written by Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine) and is due to begin filming in the U.K. early next year ahead of a release in 2015.
