It's certainly a big month for Michael Shannon. Having spent the last couple of years garnering acclaim for his work in the likes of Revolutionary Road, Take Shelter and Boardwalk Empire, the actor's star is about to skyrocket next week with his role as General Zod in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man of Steel, but first he's set to appear as the real-life contract killer Richard Kuklinski in Ariel Vromen's crime thriller The Iceman. Thanks to James Kleinmann, we have an exclusive ten minute video interview with Shannon where he discusses his role as the Mafia hitman, and you can check it out after the film's official synopsis...
"Inspired by actual events, The Iceman follows notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men. Appearing to be living the American dream as a devoted husband and father; in reality Kuklinski was a ruthless killer-for-hire. When finally arrested in 1986, neither his wife nor daughters have any clue about his real profession."
The Iceman opens in the UK tomorrow (Friday 7th June), with a cast that includes Chris Evans (The Avengers, Snowpiercer), Winona Ryder (Star Trek, Black Swan), Ray Liotta (Goodfellas, Killing Them Softly), James Franco (127 Hours, Rise of the Planet of the Apes), David Schwimmer (Friends, Madagascar) and Stephen Dorff (Blade, Immortals).
