Latest set photos from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 reveal a surprise return

A new batch of set photos has arrived online from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 via SuperHeroHype showing the high school graduation of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), Gwen Stacy and the rest of Midtown's Class of 2014. In addition to snaps of the two leads, the images also show director Marc Webb with Marvel legend Stan Lee (who is presumably shooting his obligatory cameo - he is the school librarian, after all)...






Meanwhile a couple of images from Fan-Girl.org reveal a surprise returnee from last year's reboot, which we've posted after the official synopsis for those of you looking to avoid any spoilers...

"In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker, life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy, high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter Parker hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter Parker when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past."



The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for release on May 2nd with a cast that also includes Sally Field (Lincoln), Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained), Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Paul Giamatti (Sideways), Chris Cooper (American Beauty), Shailene Woodley (The Descendants), Colm Feore (Thor) and Felicity Jones (Like Crazy).
