We've heard plenty of rumours over the past few months about possible casting additions for The Expendables 3, and now that Sylvester Stallone has found a director in Australian filmmaker Patrick Hughes (Red Hill), it seems it's full steam ahead on casting for the third instalment in the 'geri-action' franchise.
Taking to Twitter, Stallone has announced that Mickey Rourke will reprise the role of Tool for the threequel, having sat out last year's The Expendables 2, as well as confirming the addition of martial arts icon Jackie Chan. So far, the only other actor to be confirmed for The Expendables 3 is Wesley Snipes, but the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Jet Li are all expected to return for a third outing.
At this point in time, it's unclear when The Expendables 3 will go into production, although a 2014 release date looks likely... especially if the forthcoming Stallone / Schwarzenegger team-up Escape Plan fails to perform at the box office when it arrives in cinemas this September.
