NBC and Sky Living are set to deliver a new take on Bram Stoker's iconic horror tale as Dracula returns to the screen for a 10-part TV series from comic book writer Cole Haddon (The Strange Case of Mr. Hyde) and showrunner Dan Knauf (Carnivale), and Entertainment Weekly has delivered three first look images featuring Golden Globe-winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Elvis, The Tudors) as the nefarious Count:
The series is described as "a provocative new re-telling" of Stoker's novel, with Dracula posing as an American entrepreneur claiming he wants to bring modern science to Victorian London, when in reality his plan is to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is joined in the cast of Dracula by Jessica De Gouw (Arrow), Katie McGrath (Merlin) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Mr Selfridge), and the show is set to begin airing later this year.
