It's been rumoured for some time now, but Disney has today officially announced its first animated Marvel feature Big Hero 6, which is based upon the Japanese superteam of the same name created by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau and is set to join Marvel Studios' Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy as part of the studio's 2014 superhero movie offerings. As part of the announcement, Disney has released the following official synopsis, along with two pieces of concept art and our first look at footage from the animated feature....
"From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Big Hero 6,” an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city."
