Four years after Bryan Godwin founded shade VFX where he serves as an owner and Visual Effects Supervisor, the boutique studio which provides previs, 2D and 3D visual effects, digital character animation, matte painting and set extensions for film and commercials is moving into new facility; the Bergamont Station facility situated in Santa Monica, California is twice the size of the original headquarters allowing for green screen shoots and utilizing state-of-the-art technology as well as a proprietary pipeline.
“As shade becomes a more mature player in the marketplace, we are very conscious of the challenging time the visual effects industry is currently going through,” stated Godwin in a press release issued by the company which has contributed to Behind the Candelabra (2013), 42 (2013), A Good Day to Die Hard (2013), Side Effects (2013), Jack Reacher (2012) and Argo (2012). “We’re a great alternative to outsourcing. We're local, fast, efficient, and priced well. You don't have to go through the pain of 7am Skype calls or dealing with airports just to have a conversation in person. We're right here and love having our clients come in to work with us.”

Joining Bryan Godwin and David Van Dyke, shade’s Executive Producer, will be Lisa Maher who has been appointed Business Development Executive. “I'm delighted to be joining the very talented shade team,” remarked Maher who has over a 16 year career worked for CIS Hollywood and Rhythm & Hues Studios on movies such as I Am Legend (2007), Evan Almighty (2007), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) and Ocean's Twelve (2004). “It's an important time in our industry, especially here in California. I believe that shade is well positioned to be at the centre of the rapid changes that are taking place. The focus at shade has always been on building collaborative relationships based on quality work, trust and reliability. I'm looking forward to helping Bryan and David to expand those relationships.”
