Emma Stone has been spotted filming on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wearing some very familiar clothes which may offer up a huge spoiler (or confirm what everyone is pretty much expecting anyway) concerning the fate of Gwen Stacy in Sony's forthcoming superhero sequel...

It's been speculated that director Marc Webb would follow the classic 'Night Gwen Stacy Died' storyline pretty much from the first moment it was announced that Gwen would appear alongside Andrew Garfield's rebooted Spider-Man, and the casting of Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) as Mary Jane Watson in the sequel only served to add fuel to that fire. And considering Chris Cooper (American Beauty) has been cast as Norman Osborn - a.k.a. the Green Goblin - it looks like we might finally get to see the tragic tale unfolding on the big screen...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently filming ahead of a release on May 2nd, with a cast that also includes Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) as Electro, Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) as Harry Osborn, Paul Giamatti (Sideways) as Rhino and Sally Field (Lincoln) as Aunt May, along with Colm Feore (Thor) and Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) in as-yet-unrevaled roles.
