Ahead of its premiere at the New York Film Festival next Friday, a new international trailer has been released for Life of Pi, an adaptation of Yann Martel's acclaimed 2001 novel of the same name from Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain) and screenwriter David Magee (Finding Neverland).

Life of Pi is the story of an Indian boy named Pi, a zookeeper's son who finds himself in the company of a hyena, zebra, orangutan, and a Bengal tiger after a shipwreck sets them adrift in the Pacific Ocean, and stars Suraj Sharma and Irrfan Khan (The Amazing Spider-Man).

If the film's majestic visuals are any indication, Lee could be set to get his career back on track post-Oscar, having failed to replicate his earlier successes with his last couple of efforts, Lust, Caution (2007) and Taking Woodstock (2009), and Life of Pi certainly looks to be one of the year's remaining highlights...

Life of Pi is set for release in North America on November 21st, and arrives in the UK on December 21st.
