If there is one thing Warner Bros. knows how to do better than the competition, it's viral marketing.
Over the weekend the official Man of Steelwebsite had been updated and upon opening the webpage you were greeted with static. Over the course of last 48 hours the static has cleared in to General Zod's symbol - which is the same basic diamond shape of the Superman crest, with its own unique symbol inside.
Once the symbol had fully appeared a video could be played, and we got to hear Michael Shannon as Zod for the very first time - check out the video below...
Requesting that Earth turn over Kal-El and warning him the consequences our planet will suffer if he does not surrender, we now have more of an insight in to how Zod arrives here, and it seems as though that rather than having been imprisoned in the Phantom Zone that Zod is out roaming free in the depths of space looking for his fellow Kryptonian. Shannon sounds great I might add, and I'm glad to hear that his take on the iconic villain doesn't include a Joker-esque voice, as has been the trend lately.
There is now a new countdown over at Iwillfindhim.com which reportedly ends Tuesday evening Stateside. Hopefully lead to the trailer as there is a Man of Steel panel at CinemaCon tomorrow, where last year attendees got an exclusive look at The Dark Knight Rises.
No doubts about it now - Warner Bros.' marketing for this film is in full swing and looking solid. Keep your eye on the websites above and as soon as the trailer is released we will have posted here at Flickering Myth.
