Stephen King's 2009 novel Under the Dome is getting the small screen treatment this June courtesy of Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, with filming currently underway on a 13-part miniseries in Wilmington, North Carolina. Earlier this month we got our first look at the show, and now CBS has rolled out a couple of short promo teasers, which you can watch below.
Under the Dome has been developed by Brian K. Vaughn (Y: The Last Man, Lost), who also produces alongside King, while the pilot episode has been directed by Danish filmmaker Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). The plot concerns the residents of a small town in Maine (naturally), who find themselves cut off from the world by a mysterious barrier which suddenly appears overnight.
The cast for Under the Dome includes Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Mike Vogel (The Help), Rachelle Lafevre (Twilight), Jolene Purdy (Donnie Darko), Natalie Martinez (Death Race), Nicholas Strong (Nashville), Aisha Hinds (True Blood), Britt Robertson (The Secret Circle), Colin Ford (Jake and the Never Land Pirates) and newcomer Alex Koch.
Under the Dome is set to premiere on CBS in North America on June 24th, with details of a UK air date yet to be announced.
