Written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Cass), Filth stars James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class) as the main character Bruce Robertson, Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) as colleague Ray Lennox and Imogen Poots (28 Days Later) as Amanda Drummond, alongside such other British stars as Eddie Marsan (Tyrannosaur) and Jim Broadbent (Hot Fuzz).
The novel follows the exploits of bent copper Bruce Robertson, and the Scottish set story shows a shadier side of the police force with a darkly comic streak a mile wide. The teaser and overall film seems to have stuck with this tone for the adaptation.
