Now that the legendary Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) has vacated his position as supervising producer on Warner Bros. Animation's various DC Comics offerings, a new phase of the animated DC universe is about to get underway this month under James Tucker (Batman: The Brave and the Bold) with the release of the latest entry in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line Superman: Unbound. However, WB is already looking towards the next instalment in the popular direct-to-video series, announcing a summer release date for its upcoming adaptation of Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert's 2011 'Flashpoint' crossover, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, as well as releasing the first image of The Flash, along with an official synopsis...

"When time travel allows a past wrong to be righted for The Flash and his family, the ripples of the event prove disastrous as a fractured, alternate reality now exists where a Justice League never formed, and even Superman is nowhere to be found. Teaming with a grittier, more violent Dark Knight and Cyborg, Flash races to restore the continuity of his original timeline while this new world is ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman’s Amazons and Aquaman’s Atlanteans. With breath taking action and an all-star voice cast, it’s a bold, emotional vision that will forever change the landscape of the DC Universe."

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox will arrive on DVD, Blu-ray and On Demand on July 30th in North America, with a cast that includes Kevin Conroy as Batman, Dana Delany as Lois Lane, Ron Perlman as Deathstroke, C. Thomas Howell as Professor Zoom and Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman.
