MGM and Screen Gems have released the first full length trailer for Carrie, the upcoming remake of Stephen King's classic tale about a timid high school girl with telekinetic powers who unleashes her fury upon her school after being pushed too far by her peers at the prom.
Directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry, Stop-Loss), Carrie sees Chloe Grace Moretz (Dark Shadows, Kick-Ass 2) stepping into the role made famous by Sissy Spacek in Brian De Palma's 1976 shocker, while Julianne Moore (The Kids Are All Right, Game Change) overbearing, deeply religious mother. Check out the official synopsis, followed by the trailer below:
"The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine, is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter, Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Judy Greer; The Descendants) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday; Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde; The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (newcomer Ansel Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc."
Carrie is set for a North American release on October 18th, and will arrive in the UK on November 29th.
