Filming on the superhero sequel Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall got underway late last week and now the first batch of set pictures and spy videos from the Toronto set have started to pop up online, giving us our first look at the new character of Mother Russia, portrayed by Ukrainian bodybuilder Olga Kurkulina. According to ComicBookMovie, the last picture is taken from a scene that sees Mother Russia "rip off a cop car's door and uses it to shield fire from one of the cops before flinging it at another." Here's a very brief set video:

Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall is based upon Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.'s comic book of the same name and sees Wadlow stepping in to take over directorial duties from Matthew Vaughn. Returning cast members include Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kick-Ass, Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit Girl, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist, Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy, Lyndsy Fonseca as Katie Deauxma and Yancy Butler as Angie D'Amie, while Kurkulina is joined by series newcomers Jim Carrey (Batman Forever) as The Colonel, Donald Faison (Scrubs) as Doctor Gravity, Robert Emms (Mirror Mirror) as Insect Man, Morris Chestnut (American Horror Story) as Marcus Williams, John Leguizamo (The Lincoln Lawyer) as Javier, Andy Nyman (Severance) as The Tumour and Claudia Lee (Hart of Dixie) as Brooke.
