Coinciding with this weekend's WonderCon in Anaheim, IGN has debuted a new trailer for Marvel's feature-length anime Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, which is set to arrive on shelves next month ahead of Robert Downey Jr.'s big screen return as Tony Stark in Iron Man 3.
Produced by Marvel Entertainment and Madhouse (the animation studio behind the Marvel anime series Iron Man, X-Men, Wolverine and Blade) and sees Ol' Shellhead (voiced by Matthew Mercer; Resident Evil: Damnation) teaming up with Black Widow (Clare Grant; Star Wars: The Clone Wars), The Punisher (Norman Reedus; The Walking Dead), Hawkeye and War Machine to take on the ruthless tech genius Ezekiel Stane. Here's the official synopsis, followed by the new trailer below:
"Billionaire Tony Stark, in his Iron Man armor, prevents an attack from a mysterious new foe, but innocent bystanders are killed, including his best friend War Machine, Lt. Colonel James Rhodes. Detained for questioning by S.H.I.E.L.D., Iron Man escapes, determined to find the mastermind behind the attack. Pursued by Black Widow and Hawkeye, Iron Man enlists the help of the ruthless vigilante The Punisher. But can the Armored Avenger handle what he finds when he catches the person responsible and is forced to face his deadliest weapon, a biotechnology called Technovore that could wipe out all life on the planet?"
Iron Man: Rise of Technovore will be released on Blu-ray and DVD in North America on April 16th.
