In exactly one month's time Disney and Marvel Studios will launch Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark to battle The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) in Iron Man 3 and a new international TV spot has just surfaced via ComicBookMovie which contains a pretty big spoiler concerning Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts. So, read on at your own risk...
Yes, it's been rumoured for some time now, and Paltrow confirmed it herself in an interview last week, but now we have our first look at Pepper Potts 'rescuing' Tony by donning his Iron Man suit to protect him from falling debris. Seems strange that Marvel would reveal this now after keeping it a secret for so long, so my only guess is that some of the upcoming merchandising tie-ins were going to ruin the surprise anyway.
And here's another new TV spot, featuring some previously unseen footage:
"Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?"
Iron Man 3 is released in the UK on April 25th and opens in North America on May 3rd. The film is directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), and also features Don Cheadle (House of Lies), Jon Favreau (Identity Thief), Guy Pearce (Prometheus), Rebecca Hall (The Town), James Badge Dale (The Lone Ranger) and Stephanie Szostak (We Bought a Zoo).
