Michael Bay is set for a quick reunion with his Pain & Gain star Mark Wahlberg this year as cameras roll on Transformers 4, and a possible plot synopsis for the latest instalment in the blockbuster movie franchise has now arrived online via Click On Detroit:"In Transformers 4 Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his cross-hairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues."
Having ditched his human cast from the first three movies, Bay is planning big changes for Transformers 4, although he has wisely retained the services of Peter Cullen, whom of course lends his voice to the noble Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Chatting with IGN about the third season of the animated series Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters, Cullen officially confirmed his involvement: ""I just know that I’m going to be part of it and I’m very happy about that and I’m looking forward to getting into production. I think that is sometime in the late spring."
Transformers 4 is currently set for release on June 27th, 2014, with up-and-coming actor Jack Reynor (What Richard Did) the only other name so far announced as part of the cast.
