Yes, it's really happening... filming on the pilot episode of Shawn Ryan's (The Shield) upcoming Beverly Hills Cop pilot is underway and Ryan has given us our first look at Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley alongside his son Aaron, played by Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder), with the writer / executive producer tweeting the following behind-the-scenes image:

The proposed CBS series will serve as a continuation of the original Beverly Hills Cop trilogy and centres on the younger Foley's efforts to step out of his wise-cracking father's shadow, while Axel himself has been promoted to police captain. Director Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) has plucked Judge Reinhold out of obscurity to return as Billy Rosewood, while Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects), David Denman (The Office) and Sheila Vand (Argo) are also set to appear in the pilot.
