Despite the Pirates of the Caribbean triumvirate of producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Gore Verbinski and star Johnny Depp, Disney's $250 million adaptation of The Lone Ranger seems to be struggling to match the same level of buzz as several of this year's big summer blockbusters (Iron Man 3, Man of Steel, Star Trek Into Darkness et al). So, in an effort to kick-start what's sure to be a hefty promotional blitz over the coming months, the studio has released a new international trailer packed with plenty of new footage from the upcoming Western adventure, which you can check out below courtesy of ComicBookMovie.
Based upon the classic radio serial and TV series of the same name, The Lone Ranger sees Depp taking on the role of Tonto, side-kick to the masked lawman John Reid, who is portrayed by Armie Hammer (J. Edgar, Mirror Mirror). Also featuring in the cast are Tom Wilkinson (Batman Begins), Helena Bonham Carter (The King's Speech), Barry Pepper (True Grit), William Fichtner (The Dark Knight), Ruth Wilson (Anna Karenina) and James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3).
The Lone Ranger rides into cinemas on July 3rd.
