There's just under a week to go until the premiere of Bates Motel on A&E, and if you're still undecided about whether to catch Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin's (Friday Night Lights) contemporary prequel series to Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 masterpiece Psycho, then perhaps the first six minutes of the show will help you to make up your mind.
The series is set to explore the intricate relationship between the young Norman Bates - portrayed by Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Art of Getting By) - and his domineering mother Norma, played by Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, Source Code). Also featuring as regulars in the series are Max Thieriot (House at the End of the Street), Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight Rises), Mike Vogel (Cloverfield) and Olivia Cooke (The Quiet Ones).
