Eight years after the release of the first movie, co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are heading back to Sin City this year for the release of the long-awaited follow up Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Joining the cast of the sequel as gambler Johnny in the newly-created segment 'The Long Bad Night' is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and the Looper and The Dark Knight Rises star took a moment to discuss the film with ComingSoon during SXSW this past weekend:
"It's interesting. They wanted to have a movie where fans of the books would still be able to look forward to something new and unexpected, so they added a story. I remember being really intrigued by that and I was really looking forward to, ‘Oh that will be so interesting to have the actual comics to refer to as an actor' but no I didn't... I had a ball doing that, I loved doing that. I mean, Robert Rodriguez is a guy whose movies I've liked for a long time and he has creativity pouring out of him. I saw Bruce [Willis] and Mickey [Rourke] and I have a scene together, and Jessica [Alba]. I was so stoked."
Along with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis (A Good Day to Die Hard), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) and Jessica Alba (Machete), Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is also set to feature Rosario Dawson (Trance), Jaime King (My Bloody Valentine), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Eva Green (Dark Shadows) Dennis Haysbert (24), Juno Temple (Killer Joe), Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), Jamie Chung (The Man with the Iron Fists), Alexa Vega (Machete Kills), Chris Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) and Jeremy Piven (Entourage).
