During an interview with Collider to promote the upcoming release of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Horrible Bosses) took a moment to update the status of the sequel / reboot to the 1983 comedy classic National Lampoon's Vacation, which will see them making their directorial debut alongside Ed Helms (The Hangover) as the now-adult Rusty Griswold.

"We’re shooting in June in Atlanta and in New Mexico," said Daley, with Goldstein then going on to add: "Rusty Griswold is grown-up, and that’s Ed Helms. We’re casting the other parts now and it’s pretty exciting. I mean we’ve been directing shorts together, but this is our first feature. When we wrote the script we didn’t know we’d be directing it and then New Line said, 'Do you wanna pitch yourselves to direct it?' And we were like 'You bet!'"

The duo confirmed that there are plans to bring back some original cast members and that "we're in the process of having those conversations." There's no word yet whether this will include Chevy Chase or Beverly D'Angelo, who portrayed Clark W. Griswold and his long-suffering wife Ellen in the original Vacation and its sequels European Vacation, Christmas Vacation and Vegas Vacation, but it's probably safe to exclude Randy Quaid, unless Rusty's road trip includes heading up to Canada to see his Uncle Eddie.
