It promises to be the worst thing to happen to comic book movies since Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern...

We reported on Monday that Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob were returning to the big screen in Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie and now they've released the trailer via his Seesmod Youtube channel with an introduction from the pair themselves...

"When they can no longer stomach the ever-growing weed of suburban crime, Jay and Silent Bob take on the mantles of costumed avengers Bluntman and Chronic, super-smashing villains they accidentally create! Can the Doobage Duo save their beloved Jersey 'burbs from their new arch enemies The League of Sh**ters?"

As expected, the film is very vulgar in terms of both language and content so its probably wise not to watch this if you're in the office.

The trailer shows off the League of Sh**ters, which also includes Cock Knocker, last seen played by Mark Hamill in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. There is also cameos from Bane and Loki with even a spoof of "that punch" from Marvel's The Avengers.

Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie features Jason Mewes returning as Jay, and also has Eliza Dushku (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), Tara Strong (Batman: The Animated Series), Ralph Garman (Ted), Neil Gaiman (Doctor Who writer), Ben Gleib (Ice Age: Continental Drift) and Jon Lovitz (The Critic) rounding up the voice talent. You can expect many of Kevin Smith's podcast network to show up at some point. It has been written by Kevin Smith, produced by Jason Mewes and is directed by Canadian animator Steve Stark, who the pair met via Twitter.

Much like Smith's Red State, Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie will be toured around America throughout April and May.
