Another week and another former X-Men cast member joins the roster for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. Well, sort of. It's not officially confirmed by the actress, the director or 20th Century Fox, but website Shadow and Act seem to think that Halle Berry will return as Storm for the movie.
In an interview, Berry "did confirm to me that she would be returning in the role" the website writes. "Most likely. Practically 90% sure. And she nodded a lot too. I can't say, and neither could she say that it's definitely a done deal, and that the contracts have all been signed, with all the "i"s dotted and the "t"s crossed."
"A few details that are still being negotiated which she couldn't get into" they added. "But since she did tell me that the film starts shooting in April, it's highly unlikely that talks are going to suddenly and horribly fall apart at this point, and the producers have to scramble to find a replacement at the very last minute".
As always, take with a pinch of salt until officially confirmed by Singer and / or Fox.
In other X-Men: Days of Future Past news, Jennifer Lawrence says that she won't have to suffer the make-up she did for X-Men: First Class for the role of Mystique. In an interview with E!, the Oscar winner said, "I'm so excited because I'm going to wear a body suit, it will be from neck down so it will cut out time and the blisters."
Although Berry claims filming starts in April, Lawrence statesthat it starts "May-ish. I haven't read the script yet. I haven't had 30 minutes. They literally gave me the script and I was like, 'I can't read this until Monday'".
X-Men: Days of Future Past sees the two X-Men rosters combine; already confirmed are James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto, Anna Paquin as Rogue, Shawn Ashmore as Iceman, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. They will be joined by Peter Dinklage in an as-yet-unrevealed role. The film will be released on July 18th, 2014.
