The Oscar win caps what has become a whirlwind of international recognition for the Life of Pi team, who have won the BAFTA for Special Visual Effects, the Critics’ Choice Award for Outstanding Visual Effects and three VES Awards for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects Driven Film, Outstanding Compositing in a Feature Motion Picture and Outstanding FX and Simulation in a Feature Motion Picture. “It’s been a fantastic year for MPC,” noted MPC Global Managing Director noted Mark Benson, “with our artists and production teams once again raising the bar of what is achievable in VFX. We are very excited to have won an Academy Award.”
Not one to rest in the awards' afterglow, MPC is currently producing visual effects for major 2013 releases such as Man of Steel, The Lone Ranger, World War Z, The Seventh Son, Fast & Furious 6, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and Maleficent.
