After a glorious theatrical run earlier this year, Earth's Mightiest Heroes are gearing up to assemble on DVD and Blu-ray next month and Disney and Marvel Studios have now given fans a sneak peek at some of the exciting bonus content set to accompany the home-entertainment release of The Avengers (a.k.a. Marvel Avengers Assemble) by releasing an alternate opening scene featuring Cobie Smulders' Agent Maria Hill.
Along with a selection of deleted scenes, the Blu-ray release of Avengers Assemble will include the latest Marvel One-Shot entitled Item 47, along with the 90-minute feature documentary Building A Dream: Assembling the Avengers, which includes unseen footage from 2008's Iron Man, as well as insights from director Joss Whedon and producer Kevin Feige.
When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as SHIELD, finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.
Marvel Avengers Assemble continues the epic big-screen adventures started in "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk," "Iron Man 2," "Thor" and "Captain America: The First Avenger". Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, and directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel Avengers Assemble is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series "The Avengers," first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since.
The Avengers hits shelves on September 17th in the UK and September 25th in North America.
