Last week, we reported the first official image from Kick-Ass 2, the sequel to 2010’s hit film, based on the comics of Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. In the photo, we got our first glimpse of new addition Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes, leader of the newly-formed super-team “Justice Forever”, and his first meeting with our titular hero (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).
Now thanks to the newest issue of Empire, we have some more images from the film, including our first look at the returning Hit-Girl, played brilliantly by Chloe Grace Moretz, as well as some new images of the aforementioned superhero team and their lair:
In the hugely anticipated sequel, Kick-Ass’ heroics in the first movie have inspired a new set of vigilantes and heroes, led by Carrey’s Colonel Stars, and the titular hero joins them in their quest for justice. But their antics don’t go unnoticed by the returning Red-Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), reborn in the sequel as The Mother F$*%*r, and he sets out to annihilate the super group, with the Hit-Girl close on his tail.
Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Morris Chestnut, Lindsey Fonseca, Lindy Booth, Clark Duke and Russian bodybuilder Olga Kurkulina star in the Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel, due for release June 28 in the USA, and July 19 in the UK.
