Despite serving as producer on Get Him to the Greek, Bridesmaids, Zookeeper, Wanderlust and The Five-Year Engagement, it's been a few years since the last time we had a Judd Apatow-directed comedy to tickle our funny bones. After the disappointment of 2009's distinctly unfunny Funny People, Apatow is now looking to get the laughs back on track with his latest offering, a spin-off / 'sort-of sequel' to 2007's Knocked Up entitled This Is 40, which has just received its second trailer today via Yahoo! Movies.
This Is 40 sees the focus shift from Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl's mismatched couple towards Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's characters Pete and Debbie, who find themselves taking stock of their lives as they approach the big 4-0. Rudd and Mann are joined in the supporting cast by the likes of Albert Brooks (Drive), John Lithgow (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture), Ryan Lee (Super 8), Charlyne Yi (Semi-Pro) Chris O'Dowd (Friends with Kids) and Megan Fox (The Dictator).
This Is 40 is due for release in North America on December 21st and arrives in the UK on February 14th, 2013.
